I have a red tailed slider turtle who's left eye is swollen and won't hardly open and I think he's getting red spots on his shell?

I noticed it not too long ago but I thought he was just keeping it closed. but today I see that it is swollen and now I'm noticing a difference in his shell. what does that mean, what should I do??

Take it to the vet- clean tank, look for any sources of chemicals or germs, and always have water

Well how moist do you keep the cage or how often do you clean the tank.
