Can a dog digest rabbit bones?

If he were to eat a rabbit he caught would be be fine?

Report as

As long as bones are uncooked, like raw rabbit, your dog should be fine. Dogs have survived many years on raw meat and bones. I feed my dogs raw and have done so since they were two months old. They are a very healthy seven years now.

If I wanted to start feeding my dog raw would it be safe now, since he is about 7 years old?

Yes but you need to do it very gradually. I recommend you check out Oma's Pride dog food. It is shipped raw and frozen. Do not switch your dog suddenly to raw. Very gradually. Research it and be sure it is the route you want to go. I know trainers who just buy a chicken and feed the wings and breast to their dogs raw and they do very well. They sometimes add supplements as well.

Vets will tell you, NO bones for dogs. My neighbor lost her bassett hound to a pork chop bone.
