Remember .. when comparing statistics .. The statistics are directly related to two things ... 1) record keeping for each country 2)the number of laws in relation to the statistics.
For instance: when comparing countries that don't have the same general laws .. the statistics will differ greatly.

Where I live, I don't know a single person who has been the victim of a crime. I don't know anybody who has a gun. I have never been cheated. My neighbours have always been helpful. I had a doctor for a couple of weeks who was weird, but that was no big deal. I don't live in fear. I know a couple of people who are nervous at night -- that's all.
Scotland is like this too, and Austria (there are no poor people in Austria). I really urge everyone to go travelling and see what the rest of the world is like.
Every country has its issues. If you think a country is perfect, that's just because you don't know it well enough. The US is big. There are places that are very different from each other.
To find that, you would have to live alone on an isolated island.
