Raging thirst (and weeing a lot) MAY be early signs of diabetes.
Diabetes is very manageable, just read the carbohydrate labels and aim for about 150g per day, and more important get out and active ... even walking briskly 5 times a week for 30 minutes. Other signs of diabetes could be numbness in toe ends or along sides of little finger. You may also feel very drowsy after a cake, pizza, bread, rice, potato, pasta overload.
If you are a bit tubby, your pancreas might be getting too buried from your blood flows to know what sugar to remove by insulin, and it gets worn out trying to regulate. No pancreas means no sugar control. Long term high sugar (carbohydrate) levels can damage eyes, nerves, heart, circulation and kidneys.
I think a time is coming where we can grow a new pancreas from stem cells, but not yet. There are places in USA who inject stem cells to repair bad leg circulation but I bet it costs a fortune. There are lots of cheaper places across Asia.
