California weather does NOT normally include hurricanes. California coastal weather tends to be cool. Florida coastal weather is sometimes hot with chance of thunderstorms and tornados. Taxes are different. Florida property can be less costly. Compare foreclosure numbers.
I have to agree with everyone else, Florida. I live in Alabama, not too far away and visit there frequently. It's gorgeous there, each time I go I have a hard time leaving, and yah, everything is less expensive.
Yea Florida! It's A LOT cheaper! I've been to Cali and Florida too! But it's been about 5 years ago but my family owns a Condo on rosemary beach and we visit there usually 1 every three months and from my P.O.V Florida is much nicer and a lot more friendly!
You cannot really just ask this as a general question to find your answer, it has to be evaluated on a personal level according to your interests and needs. I live in California, therefore i can only give my opinion for CA. One thing about california is there is just about every kind of climate. Right now in December I can go to the beach and surf in 80 degree weather and in the same day within hours, go snowboarding if i travel inland. Most people will tell you that california is very expensive, while this can be true, it all depends on where you want to live. Along the coast the housing prices with be huge, but if you go inland its much less expensive. California has some of the most advertised large cities like San Diego, San Fran and Los Angeles but there are also very small farming communities as well, basically California has just about anything you could wish for.
