What is max distance on a laser pointer?

If you were to shine a laser pointer at the moon...would it touch it?

Depends on the power of the laser. Just like a flashlight, it only shines so far depending on the power - the more powerful, the further it will shine. Same with a laser. There are lasers that can and do reach the moon. They use them to measure the exact distance from point to point.

The light particles would dissipate and bounce off of obstructions long before reaching the moon.

I would guess infinite since you can't see if it ends anywhere.
