Technically, vanilla chocolate or white chocolate, is not the same as chocolate. Chocolate contains cocoa. White chocolate contains cocoa butter which is produced by the cocoa bean but is not the same as what is in chocolate.
I am not sure what you mean by vanilla chocolate. Most chocolate bars have some vanilla in them to add flavor and indeed, this is still considered chocolate. If you are talking about white chocolate, no, that is not really chocolate. It is made from the fat that is a byproduct of manufacturing chocolate (cocoa butter) and sugar.
