Was there a 12/12/1212?

Or was 1212 on a different calendar? If that date did happen, I bet the ones who knew it were in an uproar.

The bastard son of Henry II, Geoffrey, died on Wednesday December 12, 1212. Richard I, also known as "Richard Lion-heart" and his half-brother, nominated him Archbishop of York and this is likely the only reason there's a record of any official kind since there's not much of a record on his mother or his birth. Records that far back are difficult unless they were that of the royals, religious organizations or recorded in/on something that could not be destroyed by war, fire and other disasters.

That date did exist in the past, on December 12, 1212 AD, but I'm not sure what you are asking.

It had been invented by 700 BC, so yes, they probably used a 12 month calendar :)
