i believe, If you are looking at it and the people are sitting facing out (your right) then it turns clockwise. otherwise... people would be riding it moving backwards.

Lol. Actually, they usually turn counter clockwise, to make loading and unloading of riders safer and easier..;-)

I believe clockwise. You go up looking thru the ferris wheel but when you reach the top you have a clear view and one on the way down.
