If your nails grow fast about 2 weeks. I go every two weeks regardless of growth. And the price ranges from 18-25 depending on gel which will make it last a little longer and if you will have designs or French manicure. Everything makes it add up a little more. Love getting my nails and toes done.... Pamper yourself!
they look good for about two weeks. three is pushing it. i usually just get mine totally removed after about a month. (one fill/new paint/airbrush in between. that part is cheap because they're just touching it up- usually around $20.)
a lot of places now offer 'gel nails.' of course they've always had the gel as an alternative to acrylic which can be damaging to your real nail during removal, (plus gel is shinier!) but now they make like a colored gel so if you're like me& not a huge fan of long nails but get frustrated when your regular polish manicure chips after only a few days, the gel is a rly great option. ^_^
they have almost any color, and the application doesn't take as long as tips, obviously. the cost is around $35-40 dollars or a little more if you want art, but that's about the same/maybe less than tips!
so.. obviously it's up to you. but i recommend that option if they have it. cheap + cute + last about 3 weeks + very easy to remove when you want to change color
All of the other comments are fairly accurate but beware that if you have thin nails, as I do, it will damage your nail bed if you leave them on for to long. I had mine done for my brothers wedding and kept them up for several months. I didn't have tips put on I just had them cover my nails with the gel so they wouldn't break as easy. Do not let them clean (file) under your natural nail as it destroys your own nail. Also always soak to remove. Never, never let the manicurist pop them off because it is quicker. It took my nails months to recover from the ordeal. They are a shorter length now but healthy. Gel or Silk wrap is by far better than Acrylic. Good luck :)
Those acrylic nails, arent good for your actual nails at all. I used to have super short nails, but now there pretty long. Just go to wal mart, get a clear coat nail polish by Sally Hansen, about 5 dollars or so. And get some strengthing nail polish remover, and rub that on your nails every 2-3 days, plus put the clear coat on, youll be amazed how quick your nails grow out, trust me, it works!
