For younger generations , tattoos are thought of as cool. In past generations tattoos were associated with criminals. Bosses tend to be of older generations. It will be some time yet before they are fully accepted. Providing of course the fad doesn't die out. If it does, this generation will be mocked by all.
Because people in general just think of people with tattoos as a hated stereotype, thinking that they are irresponsible crazy people. But dont worry, enjoy your tattoos, and prove to them you're awsome!
The fact is that many people are intimidated by tattoos, regardless of the character of the person that wears them. This in turn could potentially cause a business who employed people with tattoos or piercings to lose customers and eventually money, even if the employee who has the tattoos is actually very good at their job.
I have no problem if someone wants a tat. I do not like to see them on people's necks or where they are very visible and not a tasteful tat...in other words they are not well done and look more like a jailhouse tat.
If I were to be doing serious business with someone that had a snake or a spider tat on their neck, I would take my business elsewhere. It just does not make for a good impression.
I have a friend that has a beautiful tribal tattoo on his upper arm where no one can see it when he is working at his job as a senior manager with a well known computer company (making a 6 figure income). Even he knows he would not have that job if he had a snake tat around his neck.
