How should I politely ask this girl to...clean herself?

I don't want to be mean or anything, but I can't stand it any more! I swear I almost puked!! please tell me a nice way to tell her to wash her self...?

You will hurt her feelings. She probably has enough esteem issues already, and you would hate to compound them. Go to the school nurse. The school must be aware of head lice to prevent the spread. The lice and poor hygiene are also health issues. Just tell, stay anonymous, and let the school handle it.

I would quietly draw it to the attention of the teacher or school nurse. That way she doesn't suspect someone in class.

You don't know her maybe she doesn't have any money to? How would you feel if you had someone ask you " Can you wash your self?" And you say " I don't have enough money to."

Actually I think the best way to handle this delicate situation is have a talk with your teacher and tell him/her about your concerns.He/she will probably suggest a visit to the nurses office and in the meantime ask for a different desk to sit at. Or just go and sit at a different desk then explain to your teacher what your doing there.

Eewew...theres was people like that at my old school too, but everyone would just bully her..i would just tell the teacher that she needs some help, and the teacher could notify the parents or something.

It can't be done without possibly making her feel offended. Still, it has to be done. Sometimes you have to do what's right for the other person's sake regardless of the reprecussions you may face. You'll both be better for it. I should add, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. compliment her as a person. tell her how valuable she is as a friend. then she will believe you are telling her this cause you care. I don't know how she would react if you gave here some soap and shampoo discreetly, but its an idea.

There may be bigger issues on why she is not clean. Go to the school office or a trusted teacher. Has this just started or has this been an issue for a long period of time? The age of the person makes a difference too.

She's 13. And this has been an issue...probably ever sense the beginning if the school year

There must be some issue @ home... You really do need to tell someone. But what blows my mind is this hasn't already been addressed by the school. They should be on it.

If you get up the nerve to tell her, ask if you can help her in anyway; is she homeless, does her house not have working utilities? See if there are other issues that need fixing, thus her lack of good hygiene.

Besides telling the school nurse and/or the teacher , Tell the school principal about the situation , That you want to be kept anonymous and that her personal hygiene is so bad , It is literally making you sick to your stomach , Suggest to the principal to reprimand with this person that if she shows up in school not clean and the lice not being treated , That she may be sent home and / or be suspended from school , Also have the principal notify her parents of this matter , Suggest to the principal that there has been numerous complaints from other students about her hygiene so she doesn't target you as the one who reported it , Good luck and have a happy and safe holiday season

You don't blame the girl. It's not her fault. This only adds to her problem and could make her feel even worse. She probably already feels pretty bad, especially if homeless or abused at home. Just be kind and don't hurt her feelings.
Report as
Maybe so , But the lice problem needs to be fixed before other people end up getting it in which they will get on her case and hurt her feelings as well which can be a chain reaction problem

If she has lice you need to talk to the school nurse or principal like she said above me. Poor hygiene can cause issues for other students in school.

You need to immediately talk to your teacher. Most likely, the teacher already knows about it. Another thing, you could catch lice!!! It also interferes with your ability to concentrate at school, right? The child may be abused and neglected at home. Someone in authority needs to step in and help. If your teacher doesn't do anything, talk to the principal about how you feel. The principal is mandated (required) by law to report it to the Child Protective Services.
