Why can't I hear any sound on Minecraft?

If I am viewing a youtube video about Minecraft, I can hear everything in Minecraft... but I can't hear it when I play it. What is going on?

You need to check and confirm that your settings are not the cause of lack of sound. Go to audio settings and ensure it is set on.

go to run, then type in appdata, then click on roaming, then .minecraft, then go to resources, that should be where all the sound files are and make sure they are there. second option is to go to bin after going on appdata-roaming-.minecraft-bin. then open up minecraft.jar with winrar or 7zip and make surepaulscode folders are filled with correct files... hope this helped (:

I can't hear the sound on my minecraft and the sound on everything is up. I checked the options, the sound on my computer, every other sound on my computer works fine except the sound on minecraft. And I did check the options. The sound in minecraft is all the way up.
