A couple died in a car under a snowdrift after going down a wrong road deep into forest where no one knew they were there. They lived for weeks before he died, they wrote love messages to their family on mintie papers. They were discovered in the thaw months later.
In London they had manacles on the side of a stone tower that was a bridge support. The person was hung by their wrists in agony, waiting for the tide to rise and drown them.
Britain saw the slaughter of 500,000 mostly women by burning at the stake and/.or drowning in a dunking chair as supposed witches.
People trapped by a maniac and knowing death is coming is an unthinkable horror. Nonetheless some have escaped against all the odds.
There are repeated accounts of persons buried alive, with people having doubts unearthing the coffin to find the person dead, but with bloodied fingernails and deep scratch marks in the coffins lid from the inside.
