Satan offers us instant gratification with demonic "enhancement": You can be "spiritual"... You can be "wise"... You can be "attractive"... You can have "fun"... You can "cope"... As soon as we've been lured in, satisfaction becomes ever more elusive, and death is the sure result. God gives everlasting power to those who wait upon Him to perform what He has promised. What we receive through faith will last forever. Satan gives temporary power to those who believe his lies. He becomes their "father", and they become his possession. Are we taking the bait, or holding out for the real thing? 2 Cor 6:14-17 (NIV) ... For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial [Satan]? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."
