Brother Problem! What should I do?

I have a brother who is 10 years old and going on to 6th grade. I am worried that he will be bullied and then commit suicide. He already has a low self esteem. I use to bully him by telling him I hated him (when i was mad at him) and telling him he was a mistake (a joke he took personally) but I have stopped this and told him I was sorry and telling him I loved him each day. He do's get bullied now and my father is a bit abusive. I never seemed to notice it but my father gets snappy at him and has little faith in him, and telling me im his favorite child. My mother was the only person that was on his side. My brother will be going on to 6th grade and I am worried he will commit suicide, get sick in the head, go on to be a bad person and other stuff. What can I do to help him?

get him to a martial arts class now, or find someone who can train him.

this may seem like a stupid suggestion on its face, but its not, i'll explain why, and you can take my word for it, as i have been training for five years

The basic tenants of martial arts are-Self Confidence, Self Respect, going beyond your current limits, Self control, dealing with your problems in a way that does not deal long term injury to you, and will actually make you stronger in the end, it also keeps your body and mind clean, and helps you deal with everything in life better, along with the added benefit of being able to defend yourself against bullies. if he trains in martial arts, when he gets angry or sad, he will develop the habit of training until he has exhasuted the sadness or rage, so that it goes away, and this will tighten his self control. he is more than capable, i started training at his age, and am now at an expert level at 15. get him to an instructor, or find someone who can teach him independantly

I don't always agree with you but on this issue, I think you're spot on. Most people think Martial Arts means fighting, when in fact it is so much more than that. It is a true confidence builder and fighting is seen as a last resort.
Most Urban areas even offer classes for free to those who can't afford it.
Kudos for your recommendation and a star for you.

alright, i'll take agreement over argument any day, i think i have to be honest though, its not that fighting is seen as a last resort, it is that you should never enter a fight without cause "fight with honor, and when the fight ends, be sure you maintain the honor you started it with" i for one am always looking for a worthy opponent to fight, just because its fun and i want to get stronger, so i think its only fair to wanr you bubblegum, if he does this, he might have an increased desire to fight a better and stronger opponent, not out of anger, but in order to build more confidence

This such a tough thing to answer. I pray for all of you. The best thing I can think of is Love him. Make sure he knows it, not just with words but actions also. Try to be his best friend. Share activities with him?

I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

make sure he knows that killing himself will not help him escape and that hell be letting them beat him and achieve their goal.
