Belief in religion is not based on verifiable facts. The Bible contains no verifiably factual accounts. Non-factual material is, by definition, fiction. Fiction is not true. If a supposed Satan dwells in the those who believe lies (non-truths)then how can bible thumpers claim they are better than those they deride as Satan's servants? Contradiction, anyone?
If truth were important to religion, then religious people would have spent hundreds of years trying to develop accurate methods for determining the truth. But instead they promote faith which is about as useful for determining the truth as flipping a coin.
I would say that the truth definitely sets you free... but religion just isn't interested in the truth, facts, evidence... stuff like that.
The is only one Power in the Universe. Forget about any adversary trying to usurp an OmniPotent God. When we overcome our own ego, we have overcome the only thing that can make us miserable or keep us separated from Love and Truth Personified.
God is All there is, anything else that seems to present itself, is only a mental construct designed by our ego to attempt to keep us separated from God's Mind. This seems to justify our actions when we 'do our own thing' while knowing deep inside our spirits that we are making bad decisions.
