What kind of monster who calls himself "GOD" would let a madman massacre little children?

Report as
rustyboilerz

Sure blame God, not the deranged murderer. If you're wanting to start a fight, please don't start it here. We need calmer heads to prevail in order for all of us to get through this horrific act. How many children has our president killed with his drone attacks. How many children are killed while U.N. peace keepers look on. Blaming God solves nothing, reaching out for solace does. We need cooler heads to prevail. If we allow the collective evil among us to win, we'll all lose more than the lives lost in todays terrible tragedy.

As a veteran, and an avid gun collector, there is only one reason for acts like this to happen. The weapons were secured improperly! End of story. And thank you for your kind remarks. Rusty.

Okay this question is not okay. You don't call God a monster this was not his fault. This is very offensive. This was all the massacres selfish actions not God's. This was all the 20 year old massacre and his evil actions so before you really p*** me off please learn a little bit more about religion before you say things that you have no clue about. Not cool.

I think most of the evil that is committed is done in the name of god and religion. Religious people in theory should be learning enlightenment and peace, but they instead practice hate and bogotry in the name of their religion. It would not surprise me if we find out that this senseless and brutal attack in Connecticut was done in the name of religion.
Report as
Yes, stand up for your alleged imaginary friend that likes to sit back and watch these tragedies happen and does nothing about it. How many of the victims do you think your god is going to send to hell because he doesn't think they're worthy?
Report as
@TheTrustyLepp and @nblacksmith you obviously don't know about religion. But that's okay because you can learn. It says in the Bible that God loves all his children and it's very easy to go to Heaven with the help of God. You are wrong when you talk about going to hell because, quoting the Bible, God loves all the little children and they will all go to Heaven. They're innocent. Please don't comment back unless it's to say thank you. Have a nice day :)

Kickinchick I probably know more about religion than most people. Certainly more than the ignorant bigots who call themselves religious. So I am guessing that means I know more about religion than you. But just now I was talking more about religious people then the rleigions they profess to practice. I have never met a Christian yet who actually practices the teachings of Jesus.
Report as
@nblacksmith most of that was towards the perosn below you, but don't say you know more than me. I really try my hardest to practice the teaching of Jesus and so do many Christian friends I know. And if you're calling me ignorant no I just have pride in my God to much to let people talk trash on the internet giving false statements that offend me.
Report as
Your just showing how gullible you can be by blindly believing anything the bible says. I guarantee I know more about religion than you. I can give a whole list of religions you've probably never heard of and probably won't ever bother to learn about them.
Report as
I don't need to learn about them because I know and believe in the one and only God you may know more about the other ones but I know about Christianity and God which you're trying to mouth up to but hun you can't do that if you don't know what you're talking about. And I'm not *gulliable* or blind I just know what I believe so before you "try" to mouth of religion please know at least what religion we're talking about and a bit more what you're talking about. So thank you and have a nice night.

Kickinchick, a terrorist might say the same about his own religion. And believing in something doesn't justify anything.

I'm sure terrorists have very strong faith when they murder innocent people to get into heaven.

And hopefully they consider bringing God into their lives.
Report as
Haha kid, you have a lot to learn. No offense because learning is fun. You're just asserting that you know more about christianity than me because you are christian and you've probably been indoctrinated very well. That is exactly why. Anyone who has a different view than yours about christianity must be wrong. Why do you think there are so many denominations who can't even agree on the most important parts of doctrine? Oh but you must have it correct. You just need to open your mind is all and stop using the bible as an absolute authority just because you've told that most of your life.
Report as
Not cause I've been told but because I believe and have faith. And open your mind? Like what you haven't been doing either? Oh, but if you think I'm not right then of course you must be right. But my religion is my religion and if you want to keep fighting with a "kid" who knows a lot more about Christianity than you think than fine spend your Friday night doing that. That's your problem. And I know a LOT more about Christianity and my beliefs than you think I do. I always strive to learn something new about our gracious God everyday. I think you have a lot to learn yourself.

Kickinchick, Strong faith in the wrong thing is a delusion, no matter how strong your faith is. I'm sure the terrorists faith was very strong, I'm also fairly certain the nazis had great faith in their cause and leader, and they were wrong. Faith alone is not enough. As for outrunning me because there is proof in faith, what does that even mean? As for criticising your religion, well I'd have to know or even care about what your religion is to criticise it. You seem to have this "I'm right and anyone who disagrees with me is wrong" attitude so If I had to guess, Christian faith. But hwat does that have anything to do with anything? This is a valid question, and if you find it offensive then go away. And have a nice day.
Report as
@Kickinchick & for all believers in this thread: You do know that according to the bible, every single second of everyone's lives are planned out by God. So it IS God's fault for all the murders and deaths of innocent children that He had planned for no good reason at all!! Now if you asked me, He really does sound like a monster doesn't He?
Report as
i dont believe in god but ive got one thing to say. stop fighting over nothing. this constant fighting isnt going to help anyone. no one is to blame for the deaths except the guy who comitted the crime. stop arguing and get lives please. we all have different thoughts and beliefs but fighting wont do a damn thing except make people mad. @nblacksmith stop being an a***ole

@Aj_Drose agreed and right he should stop acting like one @nblacksmith stop being an a**hole you have no fight to put up with and why don't you go away so "have a nice day" and @AlphaAlan no. he gave us the right to have our own plan. He knows what will happen but he protects his children with the gift of Heaven and there are 2 roads you can go down. He has a plan for us but it's our chose whether or not we take that right so no. You are wrong he's not a monster. It was the guys decision so yeah. and @florabellehayes thank you so much :)

Report as
@Kickinchick: The Bible says, "You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!" [Psalm 139:16] Therefore this "free will" we have is nothing but an illusion and everything we have done is planned by God, including terrorist attacks, rapes, murders, etc.

You should read the bible before making false statements about it.

And agreed with your last comment! :)
Report as
I wonder if there was no religion, and people were forced to take ownership of the things they did, perhaps the world would be a better place. When we see terrorist, and fanatics commiting evil in the name of god and heaven; or when the devil makes people do things, perhaps if the individual was able to accep tthat they and they alone are responisble for their actions, perhaps then the world would be a better place. But as long as peope are blinded by their faith; and refuse to see the truth in favor of seeing what they want to believe, we will be plagued by evil.
Report as
then we would blame eachother or rather a person of high authority. we do that now but without religion we would do it more. religion is there is in my opinion to make people happy and feel more comfortable. it brings happiness having something to believe in, like believing in a fat man in a red suit who brings toys to all the good boys and girls, who is jolly and lets little children sit on his lap. faith is something that varies between religions. everyone has their beliefs and no belief is better than the last (unless we are talking satanism, thats just plain creepy)

Report as
WHose fault? There are three males being discussed in this thread. The murderer, god and satan, Who did you mean Alpha?
Report as
I meant God, according to the bible, God plans every single second of everyone's lives. He is omniscient, so He knew it will happen, He just decided not to do anything about it... I'm guessing He just likes seeing people suffer?
Report as
That or he is a made up entity and doesn't really exist.
Report as
Wait.. I thought you were a believer. lol.
Report as
I believe in a lot of things, I just don't believe in everything I hear or read.
Report as
Ohhh. okay.
Report as
But I think how that biblical account goes he is all knowing - omniscient, all powerful - omnipotent, and everywhere - omnipresent; but the story goes is that he has given to each of us free will to act in the fulfillment of our being. He may know what choices we make for ourselves, and he allows us to make those choices. Or so the story goes.

I don't see why christians won't accept it. I'm not arguing with people or trying to slander a higher beings name but rather stating the obvious. You can't justify anyones actions because "oh God let him do it" or "Satan made him do it" Are you defending such people? I personally think that if God exists, he is a scary guy.

Sorry death.
And kicking. In life I've seen that if God makes everything happen like the asker suggests. He would be more wrathful then the bible teaches.
Report as
First of all in your comment Satan didn't make him do it. He may have encouraged him to do it but he didn't make him. It's all based on what are decisions are in life and if we have God in our life that we go to Heaven. But the fact is that God can be wrathful but. He choses to love us more than we could imagine that's why he made it so easy to accept eternal life. You just have faith and have God in your heart and just know he's there and died on the cross for our sins. :)
Report as
What the h*** is a 30-40% Christian? is that like diluted alcohol?
Report as
I never said that Satan drove anyone to murder. Rather the opposite.
30-40% Christian is someone who would be Christian but disagrees with somethings and needs more proof pm others.
Report as
You shouldn't need proof though :/ not questioning you or hounding you but faith is knowing God and his gracious majesties are there without him needing to prove them.
Report as
Them I wouldn't be faithful. Just.... Respectful.
Report as
But is faith belief in god, or belief in what other people say about god? We read the bible or the quran or whatever literature that our chosen faith gives as knowledge but in truth their source is other people. God didn't come down to earth and say hey this is important, but I'm only going to tell a few people. It all boils down to taking the word of other people about who god is and what if any plan he has for us. Maybe god does exists, and maybe he was just a man made invention. But what information is there except the stories made by other men. And how do we know out of all false prophets and false messiahs, how do we know the ones that some people chose to believe were also not false? You can believe whatever you want to believe, frankly I won't lose any sleep over it. I think it's more important what you believe as opposed to how strongly you believe in something.
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
There is no such thing as "30-40% Christian." The Bible is completely and totally God-breathed (by the ONE, TRUE, HOLY God) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. You cannot believe part and not all because it is all spoken by the same God. The question is what do you believe about God. We are evil people. The fact is that ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. God is just not evil. God cannot change and cannot be unjust. The penalty of sin is death... that's just reality. God is a merciful God, though. He did not want to see our lives (the eternal ones) lost to death forever. He loves us. He sent Jesus (His ONE and ONLY Son) to live, die, and be resurrected for us.
We do have freewill but satan is the prince of this world. Anyone who does not follow God follows satan, whether they know it or not. When God's people were martyred, do you think He enjoyed it?
God is not a monster. He is our only hope against the monsters that we are without Him.
If you believe anything about the True God you need to get before Him and ask Him who He is. I promise He will show you. He loves you SO much... no matter what you believe about Him. He died for you either way.
Report as
Well then I'm the first one. You can hardly be one thing when there's people all around you trying to pull you into their belief system.
I believe that sure God can be kind at times..... But if he were to of created everything he must also be an angry God at times. I don't think he is a monster, just slightly sadistic. If he exists I am thankful to him for creating us, and creating the good things in life. But I also would fear something like him for the less nice things he created. Satan for example? I have begged for God to show me some of his true colours. But I haven't really ever got a reply.

*Never_Mind* - Christian means follower of Christ (Jesus Christ) Jesus is part of the Trinity of God. God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It's hard to understand even for someone who has believed it all their life. Think of it this way: We are not just a body. We have a spirit and a mind and a body. I don't even understand it completely but we never will. personally, I don't want a God that I can bottle up in a formula. I don't want to be able to understand it all. If I understood Him completely I would get bored of Him. :)
*nblacksmith* - We shouldn't take the word of people. We can trust people's OPINIONS if we know that they have a solid grasp on God's Word BUT God sent His Word so that we could find out what He said ourselves. DONT trust what one person says is the Word of God. Find out yourself. Open up His Word and ask Him to help you understand... He will... He wants us to seek Him.
The Bible was written by so many authors over SO many years. Not just one person. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Himself taught that it was Truth. It will be so worth it for you to read John 1 in the Bible. I promise it is worth your time and will answer your questions. I am not going to lie, it may be a little hard to get right away... read it again. God will bless you and help you to understand. John 1 is all about what the Word is.
Get back to me after you read it PLEASE. I really want to hear your response. It wont take long at all. maybe 5 minutes. PLEASE get back to me. I really want to know.
Report as
Okay then I'm not christian.
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
You can be :)
The fact that you have faith that God exists is already a huge deal! Just ask Him who He is. Hold on for that answer! It'll come. Read John 1 like I said to "nblacksmith."
The Eternal, Living, Holy God loves you! :) Make the step towards Him... He's already made the step towards you - even if it's hard to see, or hear, or understand. "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we cannot see." Hold on to your faith! Don't let the devil snatch it from you! We need Him SO much!
Report as
You come from the assumption I haven't read your bible. It is a quaint book of fiction, and some of the stories may have some relevance, but that doesn't change that it is a man made collection of tales and stories. ANd while knowledge can be gleaned, it shouldn't be taken literally. I think when people take it literally is when they get into trouble.
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
Why? Why do we doubt it's truth? Why do we call it fiction? What's wrong with taking it literally?
jglennh, I don't want you to think that I am being ignorant, and I know that's what this is going to sound like, but it IS true. If you believe, with all your heart, that murder is wrong you're not going to say: "well.... you should know that I believe that murder is not a good thing to do... but that's just my opinion and you can believe me if you want but it's okay if you don't because we all have our own opinions."
Or even this, which is a better analogy: "You know, I know you're my brother and you can do whatever you want, but in MY opinion, you really shouldn't jump off that cliff. It's probably a bad idea and you'll probably die. You may not realize that's a cliff but I just want to let you know what MY opinion is."

See? Here's the problem with creating a fictitious idea of God. You create him in your head, you endow him with all the attributes you think a kind loving God should have, you endow him with the responsibility of having created all the world and all events that happen in that world, you expect him to make the world a nice happy safe place for you and yours. Then reality happens, and reality hurts sometimes, and of course you can't handle reality so you get mad at the God you've created because he didn't run the world according to your liking.
It's not God's fault, he didn't let it happen. We live in the real world and in the real world, really really bad things happen. I don't know why things are the way they are, I just know that sometimes it breaks my heart.
It can be really frustrating not knowing who to be mad at for stuff that happens. But directing anger at "God' isn't really an answer. I don't know the answer or if there even is one. Shalom

Ah, I talked about God as if there were a God for the sake of making my point. I'm not giving my personal viewpoint on the existence of God here. Whether we agree on God's existence or not doesn't really matter because our beliefs have no bearing on the ultimate truth of the matter. Also, i didn't say it wasn't OK to blame God, I alluded that it made no sense and doesn't help anything. It is misdirected anger. The really frustrating part is that we really do not know where to direct our pain. (Pain here being expressed as anger)

Report as
JonathanGiggelo
I'm sorry but I disagree. We don't know His ways. Our minds are not able to understand the things He understands. It takes faith to understand the concept that we cannot understand anything. This was a horrible thing but we have to trust that if God allowed it there was a reason. We know God cares. In Genesis, one of the first men to live on earth murdered his brother. God told that man (Cain) that his brothers (Abel's) blood cried out from the ground. God heard it and God avenged the blood of His child.
God hears our cries. He knows our pain. He is in pain Himself. He says in His Word that His children are precious to Him. He love's us. He has a plan. We just have to have faith that He knows what He is doing. After all, look at all He has accomplished without our input!

We won't be able to understand until we can see Him face to face. He loves us and He loves those children. As we consider this season we have to remember that Jesus was born at night in a dark world. He is still with us in the darkness. He said that those who are not offended by Him are blessed. Just hold on to Him. He has a plan and will take care of us... no matter how scary the ride. :)

No way!! God and Satan r different people saten does bad stuff for no reason but god always has a reason
Report as
Ok, maybe they are 2 different people, but according to the bible, God is omniscient (which means God knows everything), which means that God knew that all the bad things in the world will happen, and He didn't do anything about it, and worst of all, He actually PLANNED for all the bad things to happen!!! And if you disagree with me, you disagree with the bible!

Now what do you have to say about that?

You have to believe in God to blame him
Report as
Hi Truth
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
You say that now, but both you and God will regret it in the end. God does not have a mind like us. He understands SO much more. WE are not omniscient. We have NO idea why that happened but we have NO right to question God.
Report as
I have all the right to question anything no matter who asserts it. Betty I don't believe in god- I blame the stupid murderer. I make it pretty obvious a just omniscient god is not real here.
Report as
Yes, you have the right to believe anything you want to believe and think anything you want to think. Don't let any fanatical heretics tell you otherwise.
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
You make think that, but the Word even asks us: who the clay is to question the potter? He has done so much for us. He made us. He made the world.
Do you really think that He is not holding that murderer accountable? Everyone will be judged for what they do - no matter how small the sin.
God says that the blood of His murdered children cries out to Him. He hears and He will avenge... you can be sure of it.
He is Omniscient. He is Just. and He is Here.
And, yes, I am a fanatical heretic.( "fanatic" = Filled with or expressing excessive zeal. "heretic" = A person holding an opinion at odds with what is generally accepted)
I am zealous about my God.
Thank you for the kind compliment... really :)

I just can't stand back and watch people give up. He loves us SO much. More than anyone can understand. I am doing a study of end times and it's so hard to be reading of the horrible things that will happen to those who rejected God and then see comments about how horrible HE is. I can't even express how much it breaks my heart. and I am really sorry if I was harsh. Just please understand, He loves us so much. He gave His very life for us!

Extremely sorry for unsensitive post on god. Just a p$$$ed off grand-dad ranting about something so tragic
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
I saw your other post. I am not offended but like I said in the other one we need to hold on to the fact that God has a plan even when we can't see it. It is tragic. God knows that. God hears the cries and He will act. He always does -even if we don't know it. :) Hold on to God! He's all we've got and more than we could ever need! He loves us so much. Even in the dark and scary times, when we believe everything but, He will NEVER leave us.
Report as
There is no fact of god- the facts are there isn't one until sufficient evidence is provided to prove any gods existence. If there is a god, it is not omniscient or it would speak for itself, it is not just or this would not have happened and the reality is that it is not here with respect to evidence. Something not there can't leave you.
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
He did. God has given us a 66 book compilation of letters to us that all say the same thing: "Turn to me and I'll give you life!"
We like to ignore anything that doesn't line up with what we want to hear.
Why can't we accept the fact that WE DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING. There is no one on this planet that knows everything.
Consider this: If someone states, with certainty, that there is no God they are claiming that they know there is no evidence. They believe that they KNOW that God didn't create the universe. In order to KNOW that for sure they would have to be omniscient - they would have to be god.
God does not have to prove Himself to people that will only ignore Him but He does anyway. He came Himself to die for a bunch of murderers, thieves, liars and brats. He loves us so much. He says that those who are not offended by Him - those who trust Him even though He does things that we cannot understand - are blessed and they will be rewarded.
Quite honestly, I really don't understand why you would want to not believe. I don't mean that we should believe just to cover our behinds but what is the risk??? You sound unintelligent? You look naive? You seem ignorant? These are all things that other PEOPLE will think about you. Shouldn't we be more concerned with God's opinion? With our eternal life?
Report as
66 books of bs proves nothing. And why is it that people are the only one speaking for this god when it insists on staying silent? It is not omniscient. Why do people insist on knowing things with no evidence to suggest them being true? I'm not sure there is anyone here asserting a god does not exist but rather many of us insist there is no evidence for one- at least no good evidence to convince me. God may not have to prove itself but its followers sure think they do. Why would you speak for a god that does not speak for itself? Is it not omniscient? Or is it that you know better for this god than this god does itself? Clearly by speaking for a god you are presupposing you know its will better than it- otherwise it would be the one doing the talking. I have know vested interest in the truth as it is but rather am interested in believing only what is true- despite how it may make me feel- its been made clear to me that this quality is not shared among theists and you seem to resonate that sentiment as well. Again you present pascals wager veiled in self concern. I care about arriving at the truth through a reliable consistent method- I have no interest in being anyone's fool and succumbing to fallacy. I don't care what others or god thinks- only that I know myself and respect the person I am.
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
I am not speaking FOR God. God calls His followers to be His witnesses. Everything I am saying HAS already been said by Him in His Word. I am merely quoting. God has spoken for Himself. He doesn't need to repeat Himself to the likes of us sinful humans - yet He does to those who are willing to seek Him.
Like I've already said: His ways are higher than ours. We don't know why He doesn't boom in a voice like thunder to us. However, He has inspired Scripture that are His very Words. He has spoken we have no right to question Him.
It's just the way it is and He calls us to have faith in Him even though our small minds can't comprehend it.
Report as
And yet here you are repeating his words. Clearly because his words are impotent as a humans or you would not be doing so- not omniscient, just as human as either of us. Why speak for god using his words or not- you simply avoided. If god wanted his words spoken again why does he not speak to me about it? Again, do you know better the will of a god than the god itself? You are making a case for god for which an omniscient god need no case be made. All I see is the followers of something unreal defending this unreal thing- like a lonely child with an imaginary friend- how can it not speak up for itself? Why would it stay silent when it could just as easily enlighten me? And here you are telling me of his divine works for which he could not have told me himself. Not omniscient, not powerful, just imaginary.
Report as
JonathanGiggelo
Because God calls His followers to be His witnesses... I am witnessing to the things He said because I am being obedient to Him. He says in His Word that He speaks through His faithful servants. He IS trying to speak to you. Have you considered that? He is trying to enlighten you but He is not going to force you to believe. True love is not forced.
What exactly does not speaking in words have to do with being omniscient? That makes no sense.

Why is it always Gods fault. He is not slow to act, as some would say. He is extremely patient.
The sin, the hatred, the murder, & all the abuse is directly born of evil. God has no evil in him. He does not face sin, his back has to be turned, otherwise his wrath would consume & annihilate all his children. He is sorry. If we (mankind), as evil as we are, feel remorse or sorrow, how much more do you think a loving father would feel? There recompense will be in the lake of fire with the deceiver, accuser & evil one.
The victims of all this evil will be comforted. Please don't blame God, his all that is good.

God forgives you for asking a judgemental n mean n hurtful question like this, you must not know God if you asked this. why dont you try believing in something worth while like God is good, instead of blaming God for everything that goes wrong in the world, you could pray for those poor families and try to learn about "something" like God, Jesus or the bible before pointing blame because trust me it hurts God to hear such things and makes the devil happy and thats what he wants to push ones who dont understand or know God,religion, faith, and the bible away from the truth and the devil is no friend to anyone, God loves you and everyone...try to open ur heart to the love of God, what do u have to lose. it is a horrible sad scarey thing that happened i pray for them all and for schools to learn from this. we must protect the children from evil from bad people like this, i cry at the thought of those poor children n teachers and parents going threw this:'(

Certainly not the God I know. Sort of a disrespectful question in a time of grief. But since you raised the question, the atheist has a real dilemma. The murderer and the victim are buried in the same ground and that's it. No purpose, no justice, no distinction for what they did on this earth, no reason to live one way or another if all receive the same in the end. How cruel and unjust.

No, the God I know will hold court and deal every man according to his life. No one gets away with murder. Innocent children are restored to their parents for eternity--a merciful God indeed. And complete justice.

So, you and I will stand before God to give account for deeds, words, even thoughts. Good luck.

Well according to Christianity, God is Omniscient (which means that God knew that it'll happen). Plus: It also says that every second of everyone's lives is planned by God. Therefore, God planned the whole thing! And if you disagree with me, you disagree with the bible.

One day God came to visit a man. Being so delighted the man put God up in his finest room. His glee could not be explained. But that evening a demon came to the mans door as well wanting in, but the man was barely able to hold the demon off. The man, confused simply looked at the closed door that belong to the room God was in

The next evening a demon was at his door was again, but this time broke down the door and made his way in. The man fought with all he had and with all he had fought the demon off; once again barely succeeding. This time the man not only looked at the door to God's room, but approached as well. But he turned and went on recovering from his wounds.

The third night, there was that demon. This time the demon had been able to over come the man o so easily. The man could do nothing but hide in fear eventually the demon did leave, but vowing tone back the next night. This time the man was beyond baffled. He couldn't understand, were was God, why did he allow this to happen. So he decided to ask God why? God simply responded, I will reign were you let Me.

You see the man placed God in a room (part of his life) and the demon never broached that door. But God wants to reign over our house (all aspects of our lives), but The He will not force Himself on us. Because of our own ignorance, we decide it was simply better to dismiss God from our schools. It is odd how we want freedoms to choose for ourselves, but then condemn that freedom, during a time of tragedy. Is it better to be enslaved? of course not, we wouldn't even be having this discussion if we were. I pray I have not come off too callused, my heart weeps for those children, families, and of all those involved. (my apologies for using an anthropomorphic pronoun for God, but ignorance has gotten the better of me)

So I leave you with this, may God's grace and comfort be on us all. God bless.

I?m going to assume this question is a result of an emotionally upset individual and not to start a fight. In the garden of Eden a serious issue was raised by Satan:The righteousness and rightfulness of Jehovah's sovereignty. Was God withholding from mankind freedom that would contribute to their happiness? Were mankind's ability to govern their affairs successfully and their continued life truly dependent on their obedience to God? Had God been dishonest in giving a law that stated that disobedience would lead to their death? (Gen. 2:16,17; 3:3-5) So, did God really have the right to rule? But so that these issues would never again disrupt the peace and well-being of the universe, Jehovah (Yaweh) God has allowed ample time for them to be settled beyond all doubt. So, God has permitted both Satan and humans to try every form of government of their own making. None have brought lasting happiness. God has let mankind go to the limit in pursuing ways of life that ignore His righteous standards. The fruitage speaks for itself. Madmen in Newtown, Connecticut killing kids.

When we see suffering we tend to ask why in ways that are not the most respectful. It is good to know you care about those lost and have not become hardened by seeing events like this trhoughout the word.

I look at it this way: God ALLOWED it, he did not CAUSE it.

If I ALLOW my child to undergo a painful surgery and the results was death, it does not mean I CAUSED it. Yet some may call a parent a monster for allowing it because they don't understand the reasons behind such a decision. God has a reason for allowing suffering today. If you desire the true answer to your question, allow him to answer it. You will find that answer, not via email or text, but in a loving letter from Him, the Bible. Read it without bias from cover to cover and you too will see, he ALLOWS suffering but does not CAUSE it.
