Yeah, I understand like a little mistake here and there, but it's especially annoying when people on facebook are in a stupid comments fight trying to sound smart but the ENTIRE TIME all you see is incorrect your's and there's.

it only bothers me when little 13 and 14 year olds try to talk like they're All That to you, or trying to sound funny, and their grammar and spelling is awful.

Not really. Everybody makes mistakes typing on the Internet. My spelling and grammar are pretty good but I make my share of blunders (for instance, today I typed "one" when I meant to type "won"). Sometimes my brain takes a vacation.

But the thing that DOES annoy me are texting abbreviations (I never answer questions typed like that.

It's unreasonable to expect everybody to have the same ability, especially kids who don't yet understand the need for clear expression.

I agree so much. I taught the kids whO no one wanted . They STRUGGLED to get their spelling and grammar right. My son was a very successful engineer , yet couldn't spell very well. Yet give him a physics equation and he could figure out the speed and force of a hurricane and what needed to be done to build a building to withstand it. My niece can't spell . My brother has 4 degrees and is a CPA and can't spell . My dad was a rocket scientist and did the computer for the tritan missle-he can't spell. When I see people get all over someone for their spelling, it makes my heart ache for them. They WILL get it someday. I've seen people not check on here to see if someone is foreign. These people desperately want to communicate in English and get better at it by asking questions and interacting on here-but they're faced with cruelness and ridicule. I usually say,"I am going to help you with your English", then help them, then answer their question. It's just cruel the comments I see written to some of these kids and foreigners and learning challenged. I'm NOT speaking of the lazy ones eho mean to do it, but come on. We can tell what their problem is if we try.

I agree that it is human to make mistakes here and there (it's kind of embarrassing when I look at an old in class essay and see how I spelled some things) but I think it's annoying when someone is my age and still doesn't use the right your's and there's (regularly).

I know what you mean Ms Stina. Yes, it can be irritating but it's the way of the world. Yesterday, answering a question about blind people, I said that a friend had died in the Himalayas training to be the first man to climb Everest. By the time I realised the mistake it was too late to correct it. He wanted to be the first BLIND man to climb the mountain. Big difference.

But you reminded me of a comic strip whose dialogue went like this.
He How do you spell there?
She Is that t-h-e-r-e, t-h-i-e-r or t-h-e-y-'-r-e?
He T-h-i-e-r.
She T-h-e-i-r.
He I thought so.

Does misplacement count as a gramerical mistake?
Report as
Ha ha-sure, why not. A comment became an answer in which my fingers, twisted and bent with arthritis , couldn't retype. And I don't know how to copy and paste on a phone, so I begged in my answer for others to go under Dozy's comments and hopefully read my plea.
