What are some good food selections or a great menu to serve at a holiday party

we have a large Christmas party every year, we change up the menu every year. We have done a summer BBQ, full blown deli, taking orders for sandwiches and soup, wedding food, traditional food unique to our part of the country, an Italian feast, hot dog/sausage cart, chili cook off,and more I am out of ideas would love to hear from others

Not knowing the part of the country you live in makes it a bit tough. I always enjoy a seafood menu around Christmas. It's hard to go wrong with the seas bounty. Also most of my wifes relatives live on the water as well, and have really great recipes, and it helps a bit with the $. We normally have a hot, cold and soup table with everyone competing for the coveted box of used tissues. It's fun, most of the relatives arrive by boat WX permitting. We do a lot of Italian throughout the year. So we'll do a German, Polish, Hawaiian parties throughout the year to change it up

We live in Lancaster County PA, surrounded by old order amish, and all their yummy food, I love the seafood thing and yes it can be expensive, at least 4 family members are allergic to fish, mother in law and 3 granddaughters, so we kind of shy away from the seafood bc of the little ones. I love the fact your relatives can arrive by boat,,mine could arrive by buggy jk polsh sounds good thanks for the comment

Although born in Philly, I spent most of my summers on relatives farms in Lancaster and Southern Chester county. I'm still close, living at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. I get my kids up there, they enjoy learning about the PA Dutch culture and lifestyle. But hands down, the Train Museum, riding the trains, Dutch Wonderland, Hershy Park and the Herrs tour. You're right there are so many different foods available to you. My kids would vote for Chinese, my wife likes to experiment, I'm fine sitting in my backyard fishing, eatting and enjoying what I just caught

Besides BBQ, brown deli and sandwiches, you can prepare for the party Brie and Pear Quesadillas, Ham & Celeriac Remoulade Canap?s and some assorted holiday cakes and cookies. You can also decide to have varieties so that you do not have to prepare large quantities for each category.
