Travel these days is so fast and so intense, it sucks the life out of you. Quite apart from the rapid change of time zones (which messes with your internal clock) you have to breathe recycled air full of other people's gaseous additions, you eat rubbish food at times that interfere with your normal digestive cycle and any sleep you get is often in a sitting position. All of that drains your nervous energy BIG TIME. You can ease all these debilitating effects by having a couple of tablets of Arnica 30C from any Homeopath as that clears away the drowsiness and lethargy.
I think part of it is we take the interstates and there is nothing to see....it is all the same. Our longest road trip out West was some over 9000 miles and the only part that was on an interstate was getting us out of San Francisco., maybe 30 miles. We even avoided four lane roads if possible. And ya' know what?? we sure were not exhausted or bored....tired a few times but we had the whole trip laid out so we had plenty of time to sleep along with seeing some of the most beautiful sights ever, and meeting real people in unique small towns.
