What do you think about the Connecticut shooting?

I think.....how can someone just go ahead and take those lives of those children. 20 kids and 6 adults were killed. Plus the shooters mom and the shooter. This is just horrible.

I think our mental health system is a complete failure. Both shooters in Aurora and Newtown had chronic ongoing mental illness. There was no intervention in either case. Had these young men received and been under the proper care neither incident would have happened.

What I mean is: Do you find it difficult to do so?

I think society today may have something to do with it

Yes, of course I find it difficult!

It wasn't just his fault. It also involved the evil that took control of his body.

I feel sick, and wronged somehow. Yesterday was at a B-day party, and there were darling little kids running around the Christmas tree, ages 4-6, and I had to leave the room to collect myself..had tears in my eyes.

Well, he already killed himself what's the point

Today I saw a play about the nativity scene one little girl was in a lion costume, another was wearing a raccoon hat, and another little girl was a multi-colored cheetah. They were so cute, but my heart felt like it was going tear apart, I can't imagine what the families feel like
Report as
Truly unimaginable.

I don't think we can forgive. The only ones are the ones who suffered in the loss. The parents. What can we forgive him?. The person wronged is the forgiver.
Report as
how can you forgive someone who killed 20 kids and six adults and his self and his mother????
Report as
It takes time, and a little forgiving, but in the end, you basically forgive the killer.

Jesus once taught us to forgive.

I think it is cruel, but he did have mental disorders. When you make someone like that mad, they can't control it. Many heroes died that day. A music teacher piled instruments in front of the door to save her kids. A first grade teacher told the shooter her kids were at gym, when they were in the closet.

To kill so many and not even falter during the killings. I would venture to guess that his "blood lust" was intensified as he went along. A person with even a inch of humanity would have looked at the first one he killed and said" Wow, this is wrong". This guy went on and on. . If there is a hell there must be a special place for guys like that, if he was not insane and just evil.

It is a tragedy, and the way it's viewed by the media and certain government agencies is even more tragic...blaming guns is the easy way out, what they won't admit is how they have failed in seeing the signs of someone who is truly mentally ill,and needed help.

My sister works with some very disturbed children, and I'm sure it hit her pretty hard....she says no one will allow themselves to believe that they are really that bad...but she is in it everyday.
