Communism says that everybody gets an equal share of everything (if a country really USED communism). That sounds fine. Until the lazy ones find out that if they do a little less work they will still get just as big a share. More people feel resentful of this and do the same thing. No one will work extra hard to make up the difference, because they know they will still get the same old share. No extra credit for extra work, so no one does extra work. The economy spirals downward until, just like the Soviet Union, it just won't work any more. Add to this, most countries that claim to be using communism don't really. The people in power always see to to it that they get extra, just because they can. This feeds into the resentment of the "working class" and sends things downhill even faster. So, yeah, I'll take capitalism. When people get a little extra for working a little extra, they'll do it. When people get a little less for slacking off, fewer of them will do it.
