Question about Jesus and the Jews. See details.

ok. Jews are God's chosen people, initially meaning that they are going to heaven, the Bible says it. But, like most know, they did not believe that Jesus was the One Prophet. If Jesus is the Way, then how can Jews go to heaven through Jesus, if they don't, and perhaps will never, know Jesus? i would appreciate it if only religious people answered this question. i would love to hear enlightening answers.

The bible says that the Jews are God's Chosen. But in the Old Testament you will find that the ones that understood the scriptures believed in Jesus and it was accounted to them as Righteousness because they looked forward to the coming Messiah. Those who kept turning away from God will not go to heaven. Jesus was God. He was with God in the beginning. God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Old Testament was a foreshadow of things to come in the New Testament. Those who understood the scriptures were Spirit Filled just like the True Christians of today. People like Moses Abraham, Issac, Jacob, The Prophets, King David, Joshua, Elijah, Noah, etc.etc. on and on. In the end the Jews will finally realize Jesus was who He claimed to be and they will receive Him.

You are confusing two different religions. Jews acknowledge Jesus was a prophet. Christianity bases its tenets on Jesus' teachings, or what he is reputed to have taught, Judaism doesn't.

A false prophet, not a true one!

Right. Just a run of the mill prophet.

The Jews rejected Jesus as savior. They are still waiting for Him.
Their eyes have been blinded for now.
When Christ returns in the sky ; all eyes will see Him.
The Jews eyes will be opened to
Know Jesus.
Then : they have a choice ::
Whosoever shall call on the name
Of jesus shall be saved.
If they choose Jesus : they will be saved. If they still reject Jesus: they
Will not go to heaven.

I have always understood that the Jews were Gods chosen people according to the old law. The New Testament sheds light on Gods ultimate plan that salvation is through the acceptance of Christ which is the ultimate and final sacrifice. There is now (since Christ) only one way to salvation which is through Jesus Christ. This sounds narrow minded but it is Gods truth.

If Hindus wrote the Old Testament, Hindus would have been the god's chosen people, just as in Geeta (Hindu God's words) they are god's chosen people!! That's exactly why after the New Testament was written by Christians, the Christians became god's blue-eyed people instead of the Jews. If there's a god of this serene universe, we are all god's loving children and all are equally lovable to god. It's a slander against the very idea of god's justice to attribute favorites to him, as if this god had the mental narrowness of human to play favorites!!

Pious, the Jews are God's chosen People, not in the sense of being favored, but in the sense that He burdened them with his Torah to be an example to all the nations.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but by Me" (John 14:6). The "no one" He referred to includes Jews and Gentiles. Jews are not saved because they are God's chosen people, but because they believe in Jesus Christ as their true Messiah. John Gill, in his Exposition of the Entire Bible, says the Jews were "chosen for special service and worship, and to enjoy special privileges and benefits, civil and religious; though they were not chosen to special grace...or eternal glory." The Jews were chosen to be a blessing to all the nations of the earth (Genesis 12). The Jews were chosen to be a light to the Gentiles. http://www.gotquestions.org/Jews-saved.html

Yes, all Israel have a part in the World to Come - Mishna Sanhedrin 10a (which is not exactly the same as heaven in Christian thinking), unless they are particularly naughty (doing one of a list of specific sins). It has nothing to do with Jesus, in whom Jews don't believe. Gentiles can also have a part in the World to Come, if they obey the seven Noahide laws, that God gave to all of humanity. Judaism therefore has two tracks to the World to Come: a hard track for Jews and an easy track for Gentiles. Christians, like other Gentiles, may in principle have a part in the World to Come, and it's up to each one of them if they do or don't, and if course Jesus has nothing to do with that either. If anything, worshipping Jesus might even hinder partaking in the World to Come. I think your problem arises from compounding the true teachings of Judaism with the false myths of Christianity. That's why you are getting an apparent contradiction.

The jews were waiting for the messiah to come and open the gates of heaven. BUT, once the messiah DID come and open them, they did not believe.

The Jews were Gods chosen ON EARTH an initially the only once with a CHANCE to get to heaven. They disnt automatically get a free pass to heaven tho. All those strict laws and rituals in th Old Testament are what gave Gods people their chance at heaven. They were separated from God just like all humans and had to observe strict rituals and sacrifices in order to stay close to God. Their refusal to believe in Christ causes them to continue to practice rigid ritual (esp the Orthodox Jews) while the rest of us were absolved of the neecessity to do so with Christs ultimate sacrifice. Some Jews already are opening their eyes to the truth if Jesus.

Trevor, first of all, did you know that Jewish people are not taught to believe in a heavenly heaven, like the Gentile Grace-Age believers are? No, they are taught that their Messiah will defeat the enemies of Israel at Armageddon, and then bring in the Kingdom of God on earth. This is the place where the lions will lay down with the lambs. Before they rejected Jesus as their Messiah, the only way to eternity with God was thru adherence to the Law. After He died, and arose ,Jesus The Christ, came back down and gave the Apostle Paul a new gospel, the Gospel of Grace, where eternity with God came thru faith in Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection. God temporarily put away salvation thru adherence to the Law, and temporarily replaced it with Faith without works. It's been that way for over 2,000 years and in God's eyes there is no difference between Jew or Gentile...only believers and non believers . After the Body of Christ is removed at the Rapture and taken to heavenly heaven,God will pick up his program of adherence to the Law and faith that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, who will be returning at Armageddon to defeat the enemies of Israel and bring in the Kingdom here on earth! Whew! That took a minute, I hope it answers your question! Come back here and comment, and we can discuss it further! Bye!
