It could basically happen to anyone. They were a very small town and had never dreamed something like that would happen. Now,I think we should all be thankful that we get to go to school. Those 20 children only wish that they can.

I am appalled. How do people miss these warning signs? I feel like some people must have had suspicions that he would be capable of something like this, but didn't say anything. That's the pattern that always seems to follow investigations for these tragedies.
I know it's only been a few days, but I am pleased that the media (and the White House) is not trying to politicize this too much (yet) and are respecting this time of mourning.
It is really sad. I can't even begin to imagine what the kids' families are going through right now - just before Christmas too! I mean, ugh, just that morning the parents kissed their child and said "have a good day at school honey!" little did they know that they would find out the very same day that their child was killed in a mindless shooting. It's... just really awful.. It makes me even more sad to know that there are children/teens who are in similar situations every day - and no one even knows about it..
