The spirit of the antichrist is present with us now. It's just a matter of time before the physical manifestation. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (1 John 2:22 KJV)================================Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. (1 John 2:18 KJV)================================And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (1 John 4:3 KJV)
Every age has believed they have known the identity of the AntiChrist since the AntiChrist was first mentioned. I believe the first was Caesar Nero, there have been many more like Napoleon, and Hitler, even JFK and MLK! Some now tag Obama. Those are only a few examples.
No one knows yet. He/she has yet to be revealed to the world. Its likely the person that will become this anti-christ isnt even born yet or is still an infant or child. If we are indeed actually seeing the early stages of the End it IS still just the early stages. We've some time yet before it'll be time for the anti-christ to make an appearance.
The original writers of Revelations meant it to be Nero. The number "666" was simply the numerology code for his name, since one could not speak out openly against him at the time. The writers believed the end times would happen within their own lifetimes.

According to the Pew Forum, 89% of our congress is made up professed Christians, and about 85% or our population is Christian. With this absurd apocalyptic vision we see on display here, why is it any wonder this country gets so much push-back on climate change and gun control by a population who has no long-term view for this planet and is cowering in fear over an envisioned break-down of society. Hopefully, there are enough sane Christians and non-believers to hold things together. But for how long? Christians have continually been saying the End Times are at hand since the time of the apostles, and there is no reason to think it will let up for the foreseeable future.

Rob, thank you for asking, because I do have an idea about that. You probably have studied the Daniel 7 prophecy concerning the 10-horned beast from which the AntiChrist arises .(if not, come back to me and I'll teach you in the comments) and Daniel 11:21 says:"and in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably and obtain the kingdom by flatteries." That says that the A.C. Will not be elected . Okay, it is widely understood that the 10-horned beast will be some form of the European Union, there are currently more than 10 nation members, but somehow it will come down to 10. Are you aware that in 2011, a president of Europe was appointed, and not elected? His name is Herman Van Rimpuy , and he's this old, George Burns looking guy. The Great Britain Parliament (sp?) raised Cain about it, saying that Democracy had been totally subverted, and that not one of the 500 million European citizens knew who he was, nor how he was chosen! Now, it's hard to believe that this old guy will convince the whole world to worship him, but perhaps he will die (according to God's purposes) and be replaced. The position, or role is in place, we're just waiting on the right "actor" to fill the role. What do you think so far? Come see me in the comments...bye!
