How do i tell my mom that i want to start competitive cheer?

my mom has told me several times that we can't afford it but my grandparents said they are more than willing to pay for it

First, you need to talk to your mum about it stating the advantages of joining the competition. Listen to the way she responds about it and tell her that you are determined in joining. If still she can't agree talk to your mum's close friend or a relative to help you convince her.

If it was me, I would get my parents and my grandparents together and discuss the situation. Tell them my views and opinions and make sure that I have my grandparents explain their side as well.....
