How do you write a funeral speech?

Report as

Just so happens I did this less than two weeks ago. It's not easy to get the right balance. What I did was to jot down a number of fondly remembered traits or experiences about the person and use them to tell the story that represents your relationship with that person. I like it when people add some humor into the comments. Funerals are very sad. There's no reason to make them more sad. Get the people to laugh and smile. It will take the edge off a sad situation even if it's just for your five minutes. Good luck.

write things from the heart, if they were really close to you it should be easy & the words should just come straight out. write things that everyone will remember about that person. reminisce on old but good times (:
