Will a pregnancy test still be accurate 6 weeks after a missed period?

I haven't had a period since october. I'm completely healthy (as far as i know) so we just assumed i was pregnant. I haven't been to the doctors yet but have an appointment date set. I took a home test today but it came up negative. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't get too worried about it. It should have picked it up, if you were pregnant. But very rarely they are wrong. So just wait until the doc visit. There are a lot of reasons for a missed period, with pregnancy just being one of them. Good luck.

It says on the package that if you take it too late it wont give an accurate answer. Just wondering if that's what happened.

If you're pregnant, a good test will tell you.

That means you are probably not pregnant.

Oh it does? sorry, didn't know that. I have 5 kids but I always just dropped off my urine at the doctors and then they phoned me to tell me if t was positive or negative.

No its fine i was hoping for a how late till it gives an inaccurate answer but apparently 6 weeks isn't very late. We are still planning on going yo the doctors any ways to figure it out.
