My spouses computer is only on when he is there at home. I am not allowed on it. My married friends say all computers are accessible To all

my question is do you feel he's just private.. he doesn't tell me a lot anyways. he said I should trust him. I think it's odd. really I don't feel I should know everything or read all his emails but at times if I go by he closes window. any thoughts?

I'm like that with my parents (I'm 18, by the way - not a young kid). I just have a tendency to hide my windows whenever people walk by. I'm not doing anything wrong, I just feel like I'd be judged for having whatever windows open (but maybe I have psych issues if I feel I'm always being judged?). I'm sure your husband isn't doing anything he shouldn't, he's just uncomfortable sharing what's on his computer (because that's how I am).

Privacy is privacy. That being said, your spouse should have nothing that needs to be hidden from you. You are supposed to be able to share everything. It appears that you do not trust him...and he has given you good reason not to since he hides his computer activity from you. Maybe there is nothing wrong, but he is not letting you know that either.

You really need to talk to him to find out what is going on. Maybe a marriage counselor would help? There are definitely trust issues here. There should be no "allowing" of anything in a marriage. Getting permission to be allowed to do something is for children.

Sounds like there is a trust issue there! The only time I try to hide my tracks on the computer or shut windows quickly is when I am trying to keep something from people. Particularly this time of year when I am doing online shopping...and want to keep presents a secret until you open them on Christmas day!

Now if his job requires him to have sensitive information that he doesn't want you to see or worry about and he uses his home computer for work...then that would be another reason you shouldn't go on his computer....otherwise, a household appliance is able to be used by all...tell him it's your refrigerator and he can't go in it! Not even for ice or a drink...

Why don't you just ask him? Only way you're going to get anywhere with this is to talk to him about it. If he has a problem then well have him explain it. Secrets kill relationships/marriages. And i don't think you want that.

What does your gut tell you? There should be no secrets in a marriage. Reverse it and try the same thing with him. What would he do if you hid or locked your phone or computer and asked him not to look at them? There should never be double standards

Your friends are right! We have access to each others password and computers. Sorry but there can really only be one reason to keep you off his computer. Clearly, he's doing something he doesn't want you to see.

Yes, he's hiding something. Could be harmless, though.
