Any cures for tonselextemy? What is tonselextemy? Did I spell that right?

So I went to the nurse's office today and she said the my tonsils are enlarged but the right one is slightly larger. So one of my friends said it may be tonselextemy. He also said something about my tonsils being infected or whatever. So now I'm basically freaked out because I didn't even know what he was talking about.

I recently had an abscess in my tonsils. They didn't remove mine, and I couldn't open my mouth at all. All they did was poked my tonsil with a few needles and took out some stuff that was in my tonsil. It sounds painful, but it's really not. My ex boyfriend had his tonsils, septum and adenoids removed at the same time...he did fine and was so happy when he had his surgery. He could breathe a lot better (and didn't snore as bad anymore either) ;) You will be fine!

Not correct spelling but close. It's "tonsillectomy". The suffix "-ectomy" means surgical removal. The prefix depends on what is removed. In the case of tonsillectomy, it's your tonsils that have been removed and the only cure for that is to heal over time.

Your surgeon or general practitioner will prescribe the best way for you to do that.

Your friend doesn't know what he's talking about or else you misunderstood . You have a sore throat . Your tonsils must be inflamed.
This is called tonsilitis.
Unless this a chronic problem there is no need to have them removed.
Use some Chloraseptic throat spray or lozenges.
