Xbox Live problem, please read the description if you are good with tech stuff

I have an modem and a router upstairs, and my Xbox is downstairs. The wifi travels very badly in my house because it is very old and has a lot of walls so I do not get very good Xbox Live connection. I cannot run an ethernet cable all of the way up to the modem, and I can't move the modem and router downstairs, because then the computer would get hardly any wifi. Are there any ways to get a much better connection without running a cable all the way to the modem?

Well I would hope so, but you never mentioned it lol, couldn't help it...
But look into some wifi extenders to place strategically through your house to get a good signal, I'm not sure what they're called

If you get another router, (doesn't have to be the best router ever but a router, but I digress) put it downstairs and hook it to the modem-router (assuming you have a standard issue modem-router) your connection should be boosted. (If I'm correct.)
