is it unhealthy to sleep with a bra on?

Report as

You really should let "the girls" breathe and get improved circulation while you sleep. (I NEVER sleep in one, and my "girls" are still perky, even at my age, so that whole thing about sagging is simply a myth)

I've always wondered, cool!

I despise bras, and don't wear one if I can get away without it. And mine are C-D cups, too, so it's not like we're talking two fried eggs slapped against a wall.

I love girls. I think they should always be free and happy.
Report as
Ditto! If my girls aren't happy, I'M not happy!

If I had a girl I would do everything I could to keep her girls happy and I would be very supportive.

Lol. Good man!

MJ....you probably have good genetics, but everyone's different and some "girls" could use a little help at night...js

Musicswings, talk about DUH. I merely said that not wearing a bra at night doesn't cause sagging... it IS a myth. You are a rude, uninformed little troll. Happy New Year!

Why would it be unhealthy?

Because these things are cooped up all day, let them go free, let them breath, nature is best...sleeping in the nude is healthy.
Report as
Ahh but if the girls are of the large variety then it is helpful to sleep with support.

But I am large...well.... I think DD is not small.

Not as long as the bra fits properly and isn't cutting into your skin so that you get proper circulation.

I've heard that is not good to sleep with a bra because your blood does not circulate the way it should in that area...don't know though

some chicks always complain about how uncomfy bras are. maybe they dont get the good ones? or different body shape? not sure, but they are super comfy.

Report as
Well not everyone is the same, I never slept with a bra on and i am older then her and mine are still perky...I don't think it has anything to do with sleeping with or without a bra on. I think it is in your genes, not everyone is like your cousin

Not really, but it can be uncomfortable. Being a full figured woman....I sleep in a light weight sports bra. Choose something a little larger than your size so it's not too tight.

Well since I'm a guy I have no firsthand knowledge here. It seems to me that it would be uncomfortable but not unhealthy. If those girls are locked up all day it seems to me like you would want to let them out at night. I don't like to wear anything at night. Is that TMI? I sure have enjoyed reading these answers and comments.

I sleep with a bra on every night - I find my boobs actually get sore when I don't sleep with a bra on... But I'm guessing it's just a personal preference thing. If your bra is cutting off your circulation day or night then you are not wearing the right sized bra - this would naturally cause discomfort and you should get someone to measure you to check what size you need.

Most studies show that wearing a bra inhibits he draining of the lymphatic system which is located in our boobs, because a bra tends to constrict those channels. Most medical research now believes that it's better and more healthy to wear a bra as infrequently as possible, and recommend that if you wear one during the day, you should take it off as soon as you return home. It appears that it's definitely more healthy to sleep without it, at the very least.

many studies are looking into the relationship between wearing a bra and breast cancer, and although the findings are far from definitive as yet, it does appear that there is a much lower incidence of breast cancer among people who limit the time they wear a bra. Those findings appear to be cross cultural as well.

Hope this helps.

it probably isn't good for you, ive heard it can suffocate you... I wear one because I'd spend my whole night either giggling because of my shirt rubbing on them or scratching them. I hate not wearing a bra overnight :b
