Im British and Im nice, well I like to think I am. True though that politeness is mistaken for niceness might be true. I find different nations to have a universal type of behaviour not that each person is not diffrent but each country will veiw things differently because of their culture. The french are very outwardly spoken that comes accross rude to some nations and not others. Germans are very to the point and this can be mistaken for arrogance and can appear confrountational again to some countries its normal. Spanish are laid back and can apear disintrested and laid back where as africans would not see spanish like this. Africans apear pushy and dont fit wholely with western society but to some nations this is totally within its expectations of behaviour. It is facinating how as a single species we all differ so much simply by our place on a little planet. That said its a shame were all not a lot nicer to one another.
@icic6772 Interesting distinction. The British aren't any nicer, or any less nice, than the people of any other country, but they certainly are more polite than Americans. No one in England has ever given me "the finger!"
