To me, Christmas is about remembering Jesus and his birth, mission, and teachings. It is expressed through love, for most of us that love is expressed to our family and friends. It is love given in tribute to the love Jesus demonstrated for us all.

Well, here in the South it seems to be about feeling smug about nothing in particular. It started out as a Catholic interpretation of a Pagan festival. Nowadays its just a great way for companies to make money. Sorry for being a scrooge you guys. Im always sick on Christmas.
December 25 was chosen as the day to celebrate Christ's birth as a symbol of how he brought light into the world at the darkest time of the year. It's a time of joy that our redeemer has come as God's gift to us. We in turn offer gifts to our loved ones in this same spirit of giving.
