She has been out for 14 years and is shy i believe thats a feral cat they cant really be brought back from the streets the best u can do is create a small box with newspaper and food on the inside the cat will pretty much be yours but outside of your house (i have a neighborhood cat as well that come by for food)...or you can call an expert for help...not to mention you already own cats and bringing one home from the streets could infest your house with fleas and also your cats and they could possibly fight as well...(this happened when i rescued a cat and brought it home it gave my dog fleas and they didnt get along the well but he was a baby and now they are like best friends) i practically have three pets ^.^ if there were different circumstances then you could take her in however if the box and food works theres a chance the cat will let you take it into your home so its still possible give it time though and youll see what you can do from there

she is ours well she was our neighbors but she died and the shelter said that because she was so old they would just put her down. we couldnt let that happen becauses she is so cute sweet and bueatiful.

oh so shes been in a home before...just show her that you can be trusted by giving her food and slowly approaching her and maybe petting her while eating this will build her trust and dependability on you so then you can take her in but since she is shy you gotta take your time

Not possible. Make her a comfortable warm outside home.

well the reason we want to is because she has almost gotten hit 3 times and it is really cold and with how old and fragile she is this is urgent.

It will be very difficult to make her become an inside cat. It can be done, however. If she has been outside since birth, it would drastically affect her personality wise. Also, you have to think about training her to use a litter box, as she will not know how. Outside, she just went where she pleased. I would agree with usnerd (above) and make her a very warm outside home, and perhaps building a large pen or enclosed area to keep her in. I think the frustration on both yours and her parts would just be to much to change it all now.

If you've had a cat that lived outside for 14 years, that's amazing! I think the average lifespan of a feral cat is something like 5 years! But at this stage, it'll never be comfortable being cooped up inside.
