My little sister is bullying me. What do I do?

What am I supposed to do when my biggest bully is my 9 yr. old sister? I'm graduating high school soon and I have to deal with her when I get home. She's always threatening me and acting like my smug and vicious bullies that I had to deal with in the 6th grade. I can't defend myself because I'll get in trouble for "picking" on my younger sibling. I can't talk to my parents, because they'll tell me to suck it up and just walk away. I can't talk to my grandmother because she'll take the side of "Y'all need to love one another and stop fighting all the time." No one seems to get my point except my boyfriend, who says I should just have nothing to do with her until she grows up some. I love her to the end of the world and back because she's my little sister, but at the same time I just want to lay her out. I've started having emotional breakdowns like I had when I was 8-13 when my bullies were doing their worst. I can't start having breakdowns because of a 9 year old sibling that thinks she's the cutest little princess of everything.

You're sisters. That's what sisters do. My question is, you're in high school, and you're actually letting a 9 year old get to you?

Thank you. What some people don't seem to understand is that when I try to suck it up she follows me. She's like that annoying fly that just won't go away. I put up with her kind of behavior from other kids for 5 years and I won't put up with it from her. I just can't do anything because she's so young and as my mom likes to put it, "Just remember, her weight difference to you is like your weight to mine." I may just do what my BF tells me and just have nothing at all to do with her.

Dude, its not even worth it. I have a little sister and when ever she tries to act like a doosh i just ignore whatever shes trying to do to me. They usually leave you alone and get tired of it within minutes

She's not like that. She won't leave me alone and when I ignore her, guess who gets in trouble? Me. It's not ok.

Luna and animal: you both need to get some family counseling. Sibling rivalry is one thing, but if it gets to this stage, something is seriously wrong. Good luck!

I am in the exact situation Megan, and times like yours are really a pain in the ass, but you really gotta tell your 9-yr old " princess" to stop bullying you, and that you've had tough-times when you were as young as her, that you don't want to go to the same crap again. Tell her how would she like it if you bullied her, and if she goes babbling to your parents, you got to have a family talk, even with your sis. You must tell your parents how it's really stressful to hear her bullying you, how hard it was many years ago, you parents should understand, and get this situation over well. Hope everything goes well.

When was the last time you just grabbed her, gave her a big hug and smooch and said "I love you, sis"? Do it when she's being snotty and you might be surprised how well it works. Good Luck. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays.
