It is a philosophy of hedonism. It is ethically lacking, because in such a philosophy, murder, rape, and all manner of unethical acts are permissible. Ethical hedonism is the idea that all people have the right to do everything in their power to achieve the greatest amount of pleasure possible to them. It is also the idea that every person's pleasure should far surpass their amount of pain. Ethical hedonism is said to have been started by a student of Socrates, Aristippus of Cyrene. He held the idea that pleasure is the highest good. The good of the one outweighs the good of the many, or of the other. Religions are both philosophies and devotions to an ultimate higher power. All religions have limits on the deeds of men, and ethical systems to help decide what actions are best. But even atheists have restrictions on their behavior; they do not advocate murder, rape, stealing, and in fact their ethics mirror the 10 commandments (minus those related to God). Therefore, it is a moot point that religions have limits on the deeds of man, for all men set such limits. There is no philosophy that does not have any limits on human behavior, including nihilism.
