Because they love you ... everytime I punish one of my kids I always explain to them why they're being punished, what they did wrong, why it's wrong, how it could affect them in the future and that I did it because I love them.
Either because they are good people and are genuinely trying to do whats best for you, or (much more likely) they have a psychological need to control someone and/or are overprotective of you because theyre selfconcious about what people would think if you were hurt or killed.
Because they love you. And they've been the age you are now, and they know all the terrible mistakesa kids can make if they're not warned, and even prevented. Because sometimes warnings don't take. They know things you don't, and I don't just mean how to budget a household.
