You know whether an estimate is an overestimate or an underestimate by doing good research of the product. Go into the market and do some market research about the product depending on how long it has been there and look at the different prices the product has had and also the reasons for price change. This will help you make a good estimate without thinking emotionally on the products worth and you will know whether the price is to high or too low for the product.
