......oh the can of worms you are about to open! Ha! I am very interested to see what type of "debate" will ensue on this question!!!! This question is as controversial as "abortion" and "religion". What do you think about the gun laws? I respectfully am not going to give my own opinion. To much room for debates.....Very interesting question.
Well, the whole debate about this is moronic. I don't think the President ever read the Amendments because the 2nd Amendment states that we have the right to bear arms, and therefore it can't be changed, nobody has the power to change the Amendments, not even the President.

Stiffen jail sentencing for those who violate gun laws. Things like 50 years for attempted murder, 30 years for armed robbery. Life for murder. in first degree. No reduced time for any of the above. Guns are a necessity in remote areas of our country where wild animals roam, and criminals may prey on a lonely household in a remote area. And I believe everyone has the right to protect their household. No one has the right to bring a firearm into a municipal building including a school. 50 years in prison is appropriate for violators, because it will prove a hostile action was planned.
There is no way that guns will ever be illegal, BUT, there CAN be changes made to TRY and prevent guns from falling into the wrong hands.....and anyone that just concedes the fact that criminals will get guns regardless so we shouldn't do ANYTHING to try and prevent it, then those people deserve NO sympathy when it's their brother or their sister or mother or father ends up with a bullet in their face.....SOMETHING needs to at LEAST be attempted to TRY and prevent these tragedies.....
We already have enough laws on the books now that aren't enforced, why add more? When progressive democrats change their stance on abortion, I'll consider changing my position on reasonable weapon restrictions. And for a factoid, here's one you won't hear in the media. We in America are now aborting children at a rate of a little over 2700 a day! That's one million unborn each year! Until the progressives among us come to terms with that number as a daily slaughter, to back up their "right "to abortion, we on the right have to accept the 200 a day death rate from weapons. And all of those deaths are not from crime! Progressives lump together all weapon related death, which is actually good. And why is that? You can't call a chosen abortion an accident, it is a conscious choice, as weapon related accidents are not!
There is a huge difference between regulating and banning. The whole specious argument that laws don't work could be extended to all laws then. Regulate the blessed things, no civilian or hunter needs a clip that holds 30 or more and assault rifles aren't necessary either. The answer lies between the "ban all guns" nuts and the NRA, which is also nuts. We regulate cars, we regulate alcohol, we regulate cigarettes. Notice none of these items are banned? Just controlled.
There are no easy answers or solutions. Unfortunately any laws that do come of this tragedy will poorly thought out and emotionally conceived. I am a gun owner. I would like to see something done to stop these things from happening but I have know idea what would work. where did this kid get the weapons he used?
There is no law, no ban, no restrictions that will keep weapons out of the wrong hands. It's like anything else illegal, they will always get their hands on them. Once you tell someone you can't have it, they show you "yes they can". Only one way, stop producing new high assault guns, but then were would that leave our army? There will always be black markets, smugglers who will get what anyone needs. It's us who need to demand protection for our children, you don't see anyone breaking into a prison to kill prisoners do you?
