Can someone really spam your Instagram page?

I said something on instagram that some stranger didn't like (nothing bad, I just said she was too mainstream) and so she called me the 'B' word and on her page she took a screen shot of my page and tagged me in it then told her followers to spam my page. then I made my page private and reported that pic as offensive. Could she have really 'spammed' my page? If so what does that even mean?

To report you constantly and say ugly things on your page, try to report her and take care of it.
