The answer is man - who crawls on all fours as a baby, then walks on two feet as an adult, and then walks with a cane in old age ! This was the riddle of the Sphinx .

Man, "morning" is when we are babies and crawl, "noon" is when we are full grown and walk on two legs and the meaning of the" three legs in the evening" is when you are older, when you walk on two legs along with a cane :D

The answer is man because in the morning of his life he crawls on 4 legs as a baby, then in the noon of his life he walks tall on two legs and in the evening of his life he hobbles with the help of a cane as his third leg.
