Can an employer terminate you or attempt to "screw you over" for not attending the company holiday party.
my employer verbally assaulted me last week and one of supervisors told me today "if you have no plans and you want to keep your job, I recommend attending the party". keep I'm mind the location is almost 3 hours alway from my home. and the incident last week basically consisted of the owner of the company screaming at me cause I couldn't work an additional 8 hours on top of the 13 I had already put in, he told me "I f'ing own you, I have you for whatever I say, you signed on the f'ing dotted line". along with some other colorful things. now why would I want to go to his holiday party??
