Same here Cj! I hate this day.
Just let it be a snowball, then you'll be happy.
its too hyped,i hate the movies where a miracle happens in the last second and some desperately poor kid gets his wish, and that don't happen
Are u a Jew ? If u are then I understand why it's depressing but I'm a Christian and love Christmas
Because you are forgetting the reason for the season: CHRIST.
but, CJ, even the Muslim is happy around this time of year :)
just cheer up.
but to answer your question, im sure your not the only one. but hey, its almost over :)
Bad Christmas memories, I know watcha mean, make some new ones :)
It can be a hard time of year. Christmas conjures up negative emotions and memories for me.... I have to FORCE myself to be in the NOW. Because I have a beautiful life now... and the pain of Christmas past, is....well.....past.....
you're not the only one Cj... i feel the same :(
It's depressing because some people don't have families to celebrate with. Some people don't have friends to celebrate either. They see people in relationships kissing under the Mistle toe and everyone giving gifts to each other and some people don't get any.
It's very painful to go through.....
It's not uncommon CJ, I do hope that you're able to have a Merry Christmas though. I won't be able to be around my family this year for different reasons so I chose to work.
I think it depends on what state you're already in to start with. If you're upset already as it is, sometimes Christmas time makes it worse, because like others already stated, it's built up, and it's a lot of pressure and expectation when there is already so much on your mind. And the memories....
.
Hope your moods become lifted, and you have a merry Christmas :) I think Christmas is either a time where you're filled with joy, or a time that your heart aches. I think it's very common. I find that serving others during this season, helps lift, or bring more joy to my heart. (and makes it feel more like Christmas) there are a lot of aching hearts this holiday season that we don't see or know about, it's not all smiles and laughter.
No you aren't the only one.I am not a fan of the holidays. I guess it is because I cannot enjoy cliches such as Christmas trees and presents like I used to. It is truly difficult to enjoy anything considering the kind of world we live in. But I know one thing....even if I dislike the redundancy and corniness of Christmas music, and dislike spending money on things I don't need, or even watching people waste so much time on making "Christmas spirit"....I do love spending time with my family. Those are the moments I find are my happiest and I cherish them. Maybe Christmas doesn't have to be a holiday where you focus on drawing your happiness out of superficiality....but just from being with the ones you love.
Same here:( it reminds me of another year, spent without my bf who was killed last year
when your alone it is very hard.. i lost most of my family and friends due to alcoholism i have my oldest son whom i talk to almost everyday but he's far away.. i have made new friends in a.a but it's not the same as your family ..
It's obvious from lots of other responses that you're not alone in feeling this way CJ.....so apparently this time of year isn't all sh!ts and giggles for everyone, BUT, if a person is "depressed" at this time of year, then it makes me wonder how they are feeling for the rest of the year???? I have issues and concerns with what Christmas has been forced to become by materialism and commercialism, so with that in mind I'm "disturbed" around this time of year because apparently money buys everyone happiness......This year has been more tougher for me only because of the extra stress of "legal issues" and being unemployed for what feels like FOREVER.....All I wanted for Christmas was a bit of normalcy......CHEER UP, Christmas is over tomorrow......8)
Me too my dad bday is 12/22 and he passed about 15 yrs ago 12/4 I always get blue this time of year plus your not alone people attempting to take there life start right around oct and stay that way through valentines day
Because people are so damn cheerful, it grates on others and makes you reflect about your for sh.it life and problems
I'm sure you're not alone. Everyone's got those bones to pick about Christmas, some more than others, but sometimes ya just gotta let it go and make the best of the holidays to come. It'll make things much better.
Sending you Peaceful wishes!
