I wanna stop getting my period completely , what should i do ?

im 15& i love playing basketball & other sports, but my period stops me having soo much fun

There are BC pills, like Seasonale that allow you to have a period once every 3 months. A friend of mine used regular BC pills continuously. She never took the sugar pills and had her script filled every 3 weeks. Never had a period. I asked my doc about that. He said that he would only prescribe pills that way if I had a problem (like endometriosis), but your doc might feel differently.

Just deal with it. We all have to go through that terrible week or so

There is nothing really that you can do. It is part of being a girl .But, talk to your mom about birth control, it will lighten your periods A LOT!! And also make them shorter

It's called being female.

I'm sure other females would like to know too.
But the thing is, you CAN'T stop it completely.

Well, you could have an ablation or a hysterectomy. But at your age, that wouldn't be advisable! Other than that or birth control pills to slightly lighten them, there's not much you can do.

Well, I suppose there is the sex change option, but I don't think that option is available to a 12 year old. Plus, I'm of the opinion that you're not a "real man" after one of those, and should you change your mind...Let's just say for now, it is best just to put your big girl panties on and deal with it.

Oops, I just took another look at your moniker and question and I don't know if you're 12 or 15, but still the sex change option might not be available to you until you are at least 18 or perhaps 21.
