Would a .223 work for mountain lion hunting?
If so what round is good for the job? Or should I just break out my 12 ga with 00 buck?
.223 is otherwise known as 5.56X45 millimeter. It should work just fine, especially if its a semi-automatic weapon, just fire again.
Sure would .
ok. no clue what you just said but probably yes, just a warning, dont shoot anything endangered lol
I'd use the .223.You don't want to use a shoty on a creature like that. You want to drop'm with precision.
Really, leave those big kitty's alone!
First, don't hunt them unless they're a threat. A 223 is fine and that is the round, 223. A 12 gauge with 00 buck will get you killed unless you're going after birds.
if you just want to scare it off..use the 12 g. ..
223 should be ok with say Hornady 55 grain soft points. Are you using dogs or calling them in?
Yeah I've hog hunted with 223.'s several times but I would imagine they'd be good for mountain lions.
id use something with a lil more punch especially if its a long distant shot....thats all you need is to misplace your shot an piss that cat off
Why would you hunt mountain lions? What did they do to you? Anyways. Yes.
