Does smelling your food before you eat it help you reduce calorie intake ?

I heard of it on a radio station

I can see how it would reduce it a small amount. In my opinion, if you take time to appreciate your food with your eyes and nose before you take the first bite, you've already started satisfying your hunger. It also slows you down so you savor the taste. The slower you eat, the less you eat.

You're welcome. I heard it from a reliable source, as I recall. I think it has even worked for me, if I recall correctly, the time or two that I tried it.

Cj, if you don't mind, read my answer. It makes sense to me, but maybe I'm a leeetle different!

Makes sense, but just by smelling your food, doesn't decrease your calorie intake. Eatin less, or healhier foods is the only way to decrease your calorie intake.

Agree to disagree? :)

That sounded rude, but I'm just sleepy. I think that I eat less when I take time as I described which means less calories. I don't think it's a huge decrease, but a decrease nonetheless.

Sounds great.

Sorry if I sounded rude, wasn't my intention.
