Have you ever re-gifted? If so, what was it?

Report as

I was a re-gifted victim! Son-in-law wanted this sweater. Got the right size, color, and manufacturer! He went nuts, telling me how great the sweater was, and how much he appreciated getting it! The very next year I got the same sweater back that I had given him the year before! This time he told me how much work it was for him to go out of his way just to get it for me! It even had my original receipt stapled to one of the tags, just in case he wanted to return it for something else!

That was 7 years ago! Next year he made the mistake of hitting my daughter. They lived 150 miles away, on the other side of a 12,000 ft. pass! I made it in 2 hours! He went to the back door of the jail in that county, kept beating on the back door until they came out. He confessed and told them the whole story, then said his father in law was coming to kill him! They laughed and asked who his father in law was. When he told him who I was, they arrested him on the spot, just too keep him alive! Long story, shortened. She took him back an I haven't seen either one since!

My former wife was a teacher. People would always give her re-gifted and garbage which they didn't want. We were fortunate to live near a Goodwill thrift shop. She would simply drop the stuff off on her way home.

I don't remember ever doing that. But I will be next year. I got Thomas Kinkaid clock that plays a different Christmas carol every hour. It's not my style, but my mother-in-law will LOVE it!

That'll be awesome. Wonder if she'll re-gift back to you and make it a tradition? My son and I have one that we've given back and forth to each other over ten years now..

No she won't, because she really will love it. It will be one of those gifts she will call me to tell me how wonderful it sounds. The only problem I can foresee is when she asks where I got it because she will want to get her sister one.

Yes. I find that re-gifting is one of the best options for gifts for people who I might of forgotten about or who I didn't plan on seeing over the holidays but decide to show up at. The last minute. For example, a relative of mine's girlfriend came with him to Christmas eve dinner and we only had a day in advance as warning! So I decided to give her a box of chocolates that I had received before I got off for Christmas break! Hope this helps if. You are considering re-gifting a present!

I re-gifted an iTunes gift card a few years back. I had absolutely no use for it and the person I gave it to was very happy.
