What's the difference between nail polish and nail enamel

I wore a lightly-colored nail color for Christmas (that I thought was enamel) and was just curious.

Nail polish is just color, nail anamel helps build up your nails if the are frail. You can buy polish with anamel in it but usually anamel is just clear.

It's the same thing. It is just a marketing technique the make up companies use.
